About Me

Not just see the world. Experience the world.

Hello! My name is Nicole, and I'm in love with seeing the world. I began traveling as an unborn baby in my mother's womb, as she and my father traveled the world from Navy base to Navy base... and on Oakland, Cali's Naval Hospital is where I joined the traveling party. Now that I'm a grown woman... well, at least I like think that I am, I try to travel as much as possible and experience different cultures. While I may not be the most open to trying new foods (it's bad, I know), I am open to seeing new places and meeting new people. In fact, I love doing so- which is why I'm on CS in the first place.

I work in the PR industry and with that, I've had the privilege of getting inside people's head and helping them capture the attention of their business' target audience. It's a career I can say that I will do for the rest of my life. My work is my passion, in other lame words.

On my free time, I love to read juicy novels, watch action movies and try new adventures - from cliff jumping to painting over a glass of medium-bodied red win (Malbec, to be exact). All in all, I enjoy all different activities.

If you can't beat 'em, confuse 'em. That's my motto.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've joined the CS community because I love meeting people from different places and on different walks of life. It's so easy to judge people when you haven't sat, drank, ate or danced with people who aren't the typical people in your "bubble." And because I don't like people to judge me, I put myself in environments that aren't judgemental. I believe that the CS community has open arms to all people, and I love that about the CS culture. That's why I am participating in it.

My first CS experience was back in 2012, when I booked a random excursion to New York. I stayed for an entire week in Spanish Harlem, where I met many CSers during several parties. It was a blast! That's when I got hooked on using CS as my main method of "getting around" in different cities. Since my first experience, I have stayed at different homes and have shared my home for others as well. I can't wait to meet more in the CS community.

I am interested in just experiencing new things! But to name a list of things that I truly enjoy... let's say zumba, watchinig action/drama movies, working (I know, I'm addicted to work ha), dancing, drinking wine, watching live jazz performances, painting, listening to music, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like action/drama movies the most. If someone is watching a comedy, then I'll join in; but typically I don't rent them myself. Everything is much better with a glass of wine though.
