About Me

CURRENT MISSION

student for animals

ABOUT ME

Former journalist who now study to become a veterinarian. I have two cats and two poodles and a human roommate in my studentapartment in Uppsala. I´d like to get new friends in Uppsala as well as in the rest of the world. I used to live in Stockholm for a long time and miss it a lot. The clubs, the dancing and meeting friends. Please write me a line to tell me Uppsala can be like that too! I really need something to happen here soon or I´ll crasch completely... My economy has always kept me from becoming a globetrotter - until I found out about couch surfing! I hope to see interesting places and to get new friends. And in times I don´t have the possibility to come to the world maybe the world will come to me.

PHILOSOPHY

Green/socialist, vegetarian (but sometimes eat certain fish), feminist and a long time member of the swedish animal rights organisation Djurens Rätt.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I know everything about Stockholm, but nothing about Uppsala Im afraid. If you´re into independent pop and garagerock music, Debaser (at Underground Station Slussen, Stockholm) is the club for you! I can also recommend Pet Sounds Bar and Record Store at Skånegatan. Very good libanese food you get at Sahara, Folkungagatan. Midprices but you certainly won´t go hungry afterwards! If you´re into gardening, or just want some air, Rosendals garden at Djurgården is a nice place to lunch. Like carousels? - don´t miss Gröna Lund in the same area! Want to see a real dinosaur or a mammut? Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet (a huge museum next to Stockholm University) have both! The Wasa museum (with an old ship from the seventeenth century) is also very popular but you don´t get on board the boat so I find it a bit disappointing. Anyway, Mick Jagger booked the entire museum when he was in the city a few years ago. So maybe the old ship still rocks in some way. And, interested in old architecture or not, don´t miss Gamla Stan/the old quarters with houses from the fifteenth century! Just remember not to buy any lousy souvenirs in these quarters. Everything is ugly and expensive. Though I can recommend the gay cafe "Chokladkoppen" at Stortorget, Gamla Stan - huge chocolate cups and lovely cinnamon bakery!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I cant host at the moment because I live with other people so please don´t ask. I am a student and I don´t live in Stockholm anymore.

Interests

Pop and rockmusic is a great interest of mine. I used to be a dj at clubs in Stockholm, but havn´t been out that much since I had a spinal surgery last year. My pets get a lot of my attention and I plan to make my "hobby" my work becoming a veterinarian. When I decided to go back to university horticulturist was my second choice. I love to grow things and hope to have a garden in the future. Right now I don´t even have a balcony.
