I am Lana, a British backpacker aged 31. Currently travelling around Indonesia/Australia and soon to head to Japan with my boyfriend Rory, 28.
We have just spent one a bit years travelling around Vietnam & Indonesia, before living & working in Melbourne for one year whilst saving to travel again and explore more of Indonesia & Australia!
We are both Graphic Designers from London, UK, who like to have a beer, a chat & a cycle around just about everywhere we go ) but not neccessarily in that order!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We are on couch surfing after hearing good things from a friend who had previously used the site. Knowing we were about to travel around more of Australia she recommended it to us, & we thought it would be a great idea to get involved in, meet with new people along the way, get to know places a little better & hear stories from other travellers along the way
We both are really interested in Design, being Graphic Designers! We enjoy visiting galleries, painting Murals along our travels and searching for other artists work along the road. Lana is a Sign writer so tries to paint the odd sign along the way, either in exchange for accommodation, food, a beer or just for fun!
Of course, we love to travel, we love to cycle around everywhere as we are bike lovers and cycle everywhere when back at home in London.

Music, Movies, and Books
Luckily we have a very similar taste these things, Lana is currently reading Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts, and Rory is reading the sequel - The Shadow Mountain. We love a good bit of comedy so Lana has been reading Yes Please by Amy Poehler along our travels too
Music, we love a bit of everything! Ranging from Soul, funk, Hip hop, trip hop, pop... we have very eclectic tastes & are happy with just about any sounds in the right situations :)
We're both currently watching Game of Thrones together after Lana got into it on the road, during the sleepy nights when not feeling so well on a recent trip to Flores, much to Rory's enjoyment, he'd been waiting to watch it for a long while!
We like things such as Breaking Bad, Prison Break, Shameless, How I met your mother, The Walking Dead, Upper Middle Bogan... and some embaressing ones we got into in Australia such as the Bachelor & Farmer wants a wife!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We planned a night stay on an island out in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam... and after several buses, buses & more buses we finally arrived to the point we needed to take a boat to find the island we were sleeping on. At the time we arrived it was getting dark and we had missed a lot of opportunities to take boats, having very little choice, we found a nice fisherman guy who took us through the amazing & beautiful islets during sunset for a small price.
Once we arrived, we were very happy as we were sure that we probably would not have gotten the chance to have a nice, quiet private boat ride again and enjoyed the experience so much more than taking a full boat tour back to land the next day.
Teach, Learn, Share
As we are artists & Designers, we often teach workshops on sign painting, mural painting & typography back in the UK, & so it's something we really enjoy doing!

What I Can Share with Hosts
We cwould love to offer some nice Murals or piece of sign writing! Anything big or small, we love to paint, and paint large scale, which we have done for a few people so far in Vietnam, Indonesia, Sydney & Melbourne! Please see pics in our album :) We are always keen to add pieces to our portfolio & really enjoy creating them as gifts to people we meet on our travels. Each one telling a story or containing something personal for its new owner :)
We paint anything at all, some signs for the home, cars, large murals, walls, rooftops, you name it, we'll paint it!
