Über mich
CURRENT MISSION
I want to further improve my social skills and meet more and more interesting and awesome people and I think CS is one great way to do that
ABOUT ME
My name is Alana, though you may call me by my nicknames: Lana, Banana and LaNerd. I am of Malay, Filipino (+ Spanish + Japanese + some other races I'm uncertain of) heritage, Malaysian by nationality and proud of it! I'm an only child, and though I absolutely love my real family, my close and good friends are my second family. There is a saying; "Cherish your friends. Because unlike your family, they actually choose to be with you." and I stick to that.
I am mostly upbeat, almost always in the mood for a nice long walk, coffee and/or a tour through a city, suburb or countryside, if ever an opportunity presents itself. Friends say I have a wicked and vulgar sense of humour (don't know if that's really a good thing :P), as I love to laugh and make people laugh and most definitely enjoy seeing people happy.
As for describing who I truly am in that sort of deep philosophical way, I have to say that I am still searching for myself and I will let you know when I can put words to the hopefully eventful journey of self-knowing, or soul searching, if you prefer :)
PHILOSOPHY
“Be Who You Are and Say What You Feel Because Those Who Mind Don't Matter and Those Who Matter Don't Mind.”
- Dr. Seuss
"If you could get rid of yourself just once, the secrets of secrets would open to you. The face of the unknown, hidden beyond the universe would appear on the mirror of your perception."
- Rumi
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I look forward to providing help and support in anyway I can for the benefit of others be it within the CS community or otherwise.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Although I am practically fresh meat in the world of CS, I have attended a couple of CS gatherings (more like crashed them ;P) with my bestest friend, Nurul Fatihah who is an avid couchsurfer and who introduced me to this wonderful community. So far, I have met a handful of great people through CS and heard raves about it, and so I thought "Damn, it's high time I joined in" and here I am, ready for anything!

You know, I always hate these sections of the profile building where you have to list down favourite movies, books, music etc. There are positively too many of them to name and if I were to forget to mention one, I would feel terrible, TERRIBLE! But in any case, I'll put down a few. -__-"
