About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Helping street kids in Tegucigalpa

ABOUT ME

My name is Nick. I'm volunteering in Casa Alianza in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, for the year - a charity that helps street kids. I'm writing a book about their experiences, which is amazing and the kids are brilliant, hilarious and absolute survivors!
I'm relaxed, chilled, but good company with lots of stories to tell. I'm also respectful and very polite.
I am going to Costa Rica for one week, courtesy of a bingo competition I won. I had no plans to go to Costa Rica to be honest, so it's a lovely surprise. I want to try couch surfing while I am there, so I can meet the locals, get advice on where to go (and how to get there) and make friends. I won't lie, as a volunteer, I haven't got loads of money, so part of this is to budget somewhat!

PHILOSOPHY

It's not to complicated: do as you would be done by.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am travelling through Costa Rica. I will share my experiences of working with street kids, but also make new friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is the first time I've used couch surf. I sometimes use hostels but I have opted to do something a little different this time.

Interests

I love writing novels, short stories and poems. That is my pride and joy. I like football (soccer), listening to Irish music, salsa, rock, chill out. I like taking pictures and I love travelling.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like the film The Brothers McMullen
I like books by Alberto Moravia
I like most types of music, but not reggaeton or heavy metal.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am currently writing a book with street kids and their experiences with gangs, on drugs, or being abused by their families. It's not light reading but it's very, very life changing.
I have also worked with refugees and ran a marathon, if that counts for anything.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can write you a poem.
