ABOUT ME

I am a very talkative, open-minded, easy-going and particulary art-interested person. I love to travel around and regard it as the best way to share everyone´s story...

PHILOSOPHY

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I recently participated in the CS conference in Montréal which was awesome! Other than that I try to go to CS meetings as much as possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first CS experience was in spring 2009 when me and my friend made a trip through Northern Ireland and the Republic. I haven´t heard anything about CS before but all the people we met in Ireland were just wonderful and stunningly hospitable. We had such a good time there, being hosted by French exchange students in Sligo, a very Irish girl in Derry and an interesting old Brith man in Westport...
Now I am totally fascinated by the idea and philosophy of CS and I go on travelling. There is a lot more to see and to learn!

Interests

-dancing!
-travelling!
-learning foreign languages! (a bit Portuguese at the moment...but I am always changing...)
-cinema!
-reading
-photography
-cooking and baking
-good wine, good food, good coffee shops

-playing the flute

Music, Movies & Books

I am totally into culture, opera, dance, music...
I love Spanish and Latin American music. That´s why I dance Flamenco and Tango. Otherwise I listen to Fado!, Electro, Pop-Rock, traditional Irish Music, Ska, Blues, Reggae, Chansons francaises, Oldies, especially Flower Power music...
I love French movies and European productions such as "Berlin" ,"Le fabuleux destin d´Amélie Poulain, "Der Himmel über Berlin", "Je vais bien, ne t´en fais pas", "Ensemble, c´est tout","Nichts als Gespenster", "Once" but also Woody Allen productions ("Scoop" and "Vicky Cristina Barcelona")
A nice book in the evening or in holidays is fun as well. I like every book written by this modern Japanese author Haruki Murakami and "La Sombre del Viento" de Ruiz Zafón, but also classic literature such as "Narziss und Goldmund" by Hermann Hesse, "Le Petit Prince" by Antoine Saint-Exupéry or "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

When me and my friend hitch-hiked through Ireland, we met so many spontaneous people... There was this Irish guy in Co. Mayo who picked us up and as he offered us to join him to go to the beach and we finally went surfing with him, then there was this American guy who showed us the whole Connemarra, invited us for an Irish Coffee in a small village in the mountains and then he offered us to stay in his student house in Galway for the following nights...

Last winter, I joined my crazy friends and we went for a swim in the Baltic Sea on New Year´s Eve. The water was incredibly cold, like 0°.

I enjoy every moment when I dance...

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to meet people who see the world through different eyes. It broadens my horizon.
I think travelling and meeting new, talkative, interesting, enthusiastic and spontaneous people is the best way to do so...
