To never stop wondering and to always keep wandering.
I am an anomaly. Born to an unconventional family, I tend to have my own way of doing things. I have my own way of thinking. I am different and I am alright with that.Traveling has always been my passion.I travel to learn. I travel to grow. I travel to shake up my world and to return to Canada a different person. I travel because if I stayed within my comfort zone I would go crazy. I travel because I can't imagine a routine life.I love sports. I love the outdoors. I love hiking and camping. "Roughing it" appeals to me. I am not a huge fan of dinner and the movies. My friends and I can have fun almost anywhere. I dance even when there is no music. I sing despite an extreme lack of talent. I laugh at myself daily. I embarass myself several times a day. I love the unknown. I love meeting and getting to know random people. I particularly like unconventional, unique and quirky people that I can learn from. I love the beauty that can be found almost anywhere. I love the beauty that can be found in almost anyone. I love.
Beautiful clothing gets thrown away with time but memories last forever. A big house can be nice to look at but it does little to bring happiness. I'd rather laugh with crooked teeth than scowl with beautiful lips. Life should be enjoyed, friends should be abundant and memories should be made daily.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
I made this account while Couchsurfing the West Coast of North America. When I am there, I am always available to show you around Montreal, give you advice, or help you with anything else. Depending on my situation, write to me, and I can host you or find you a place!
Wow, where to begin? Everything new and exciting appeals to me. There are so many things to experience that I am always willing to try anything once, even if it is just to confirm that I don't actually like it.I looooo-ve sports. Football (soccer) is my favorite of all time and I have played since I was five. I played varsity rugby as second row. I love volleyball, swimming, dancing etc. I just like to move and stay active! I love hiking and camping. I am the opposite of high maintenance. I enjoy theatre! I love acting, because you learn to see the world from somebody else's perspective. I love good conversations. If you have interesting stories to tell, I will be your best friend. If you have a unique personality, I will love you forever. I enjoy getting to know people and hearing about what they have to say. Here's an original one! I love traveling! One day, I will see the world! As a traveler, as a CouchSurfer!

Música, películas y libros
My taste in music differs wildly depending on my mood. When I study I listen to classical, which would not have the same effect if I wanted to dance. I love oldies, alternative rock, old school hip hop and much more in between. I judge music on an individual basis :)I like movies such as Fight Club, American History X and American Beauty. I do not watch many movies (I saw two in 2011) but I do enjoy them when I do watch them.I love authors such as Kurt Vonnegut, George Orwell and John Steinbeck.
Algo increíble que he hecho
Hahahahaha! So many to share! Here are a few of my favorites! My friends always make me embarass myself, so when in Jamaica, I was entered into a dance competition against five local Jamaican girls. It was a huge event and I attended expecting to watch it but ended up participating. My face was bright red and I couldn't stop laughing. It was such a funny experience! On my 18th birthday I was supposed to have a huge party. I decided that I didn't want to and that very day I asked my best friend to escape with me to New York. We jumped on a bus, with one change of clothing, a bottle of water and absolutely no money. When we arrived there we met some musicians and helped them sell CDs, hung out with some rap artists we met and found a group of tourists who asked us to hang out with them. Finally, we were on our own again, with 0 plans. We finally made a friend who let us stay at their place. In the morning we made friends with a man who rode the bikes that lead carriages through Central Park. He gave us a free tour and introduced us to all of his friends. As the trip progressed we met so many people that it was my best trip to New York yet!Working in an orphanage in Peru will always hold a special place in my heart. I fell in love with ten beautiful girls that I will forever remember. Beauty like theirs is rare and the smiles that we shared were the most genuine I have ever felt. I was once pulled into a hairdressing salon in Algeria. A group of women told me to sit down and they all started dancing. They then told me they would cut my hair. When I said that I had no money they said it was a gift for their Canadian friend. So three hairdressers danced while the fourth cut my hair. My hair ended up being too short, but it grew back and the memory made it worth it!
I was sitting in class while on exchange in Australia. The girl next to me and I got to talking about how we both wanted to visit New Zealand. Without really knowing her, we both decided to buy tickets together after class! We hitchhiked up to Melbourne, went to some comedy shows there, Couchsurfed, danced, skateboarded and had the best time, caught a plane to New Zealand, went hiking, skydiving, bungee jumping, rented a motor home to drive across the country, made heaps of friends and became amazing friends. Helene and I are still amazing friends despite her living in Austria and myself in Canada! We had so many disasters on the trip, but also the craziest memories! It was amazing to travel with a total stranger and then end up best friends!
Again, while on exchange in Australia, I fell in love with an exchange student from Lithuania. We ended up deciding to travel in SE Asia together. This ended up being the best time of my life! Adventures included spending some time on an island making a dozen friends that we are still in contact with. We went snorkeling and our friend got stung by a jelly fish! We invented a religion and danced and had island parties at night. I was dared to jump from an 8-foot tower and then swim away from heaps of jelly fish. I did it out of pure pride! We missed our flight from Malaysia to Indonesia and slept in the airport. In Indonesia we ended up staying with a slightly strange but interesting family! We attended a brilliant local wedding! Hiked through waterfalls and canoed through an ancient village! I went swimming with the dolphins and played soccer with local fishermen. When Zygi left I hitchhiked to another village to escape a creepy man who proposed to me ;) The locals threw me a traditional Balinese birthday celebration with cake, dancing, meditation, presents and FOOD! I went running every morning and the locals would cheer for me and we would laugh together. Rode through Indonesia by motorbike, and would scream out of fear and excitement when some cars and motorbikes would brush right by me.
Rode my bike through the streets of Hawaii with locals for four hours. We ended up at a fire jam and spent the night hula hooping, dancing, watching a spectacular show and meeting great people!
Went throughout several European countries meeting up with friends that I made while on exchange in Australia. My best friend and I, a Dutch Couchsurfer named Bertine, went to Holland, England and Italy together reuniting with friends hitchhiking, DANCING, dressing up and running through the streets, biking and having adventures. I then went to France on my own to reconnect with a great friend. I attended the midnight mass at the Basilica Notre Dame for my first ever Christmas in Europe. My going away party was amazing and filled with the friends that I made during a one week stay in Paris. Unbelievable and unconventional Euro-trip!
Enseña, aprende, comparte
If there is a sport that you want to learn, or have someone to learn with, chances are, I'll be interested! If, for some crazy and strange reason, you have a finance, accounting or equally exciting business question, I am your go to girl ;)I also have two breakdancing moves that I am somewhat mediocre at so I can teach you those. Just don't learn them better than I do, because they are my pride and joy!I would love to learn a language, local dance, tradition, recipe or story if anyone if willing to teach me. :)
