About Me

I grew up in the northeast US, lived in Brussels, London and Montreal for most of my 20s and am currently residing in Florida. The south is NOT for me and I am hoping to relocate to the Pacific Northwest. Planning to make my way towards Portland, Oregon by car and see what happens. Once I get there I'd love to find a safe temporary place to stay while I get my bearings, find a job and decide which neighborhood is best for me. I'm creative and easygoing. Having lived in shared spaces for most of my adult life I am very respectful of others' privacy and easy to cohabitate with. I'm neat and quiet but happy to socialize as well. Not much of a party animal, I prefer small groups. I don't drink or do drugs, not judging anyone who does but it's just not for me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm not wealthy by any means so it's economical, and it also seems like great way to meet interesting people as I get settled in a completely new environment.

Interests

I'm into pretty much any type of craft I can find and I love learning new things. I draw, collage, make jewelry, customize clothing- I just enjoy making stuff to use, wear and just for the beauty of it. I love the outdoors. I'm a decent cook and love the whole process of getting together the makings of a good meal. I'm pretty easy to please- just plop me at an outdoor cafe with a good coffee and a sketch pad and I'm set for the afternoon.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many and too varied to name. I mainly read contemporary fiction. Lionel Shriver, Donna Tartt, Elizabeth George are a few recent favorites. I love Nordic crime novels as well. As far as movies go I'll watch pretty much anything except romantic comedies and legal thrillers. My music tastes range from coolly eclectic British indie rock to apallingly cheesy 80s jams. Whatever the mood calls for.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I packed a suitcase and moved to Belgium after I finished college, which was the beginning of many, many more adventures.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about various types of crafts, specifically jewelry making. I'm a good cook and having grown up with an obsessively clean mother I'm good and cleaning and organizing.

What I Can Share with Hosts
