To meet fun and compassionate people who are committed to minimizing their carbon footprint.
I am currently a graduate student at the University of California Davis. I study environmental policy and its impacts on low-income communities in the United States.
I grew up in Alaska and was the product of two scientists who moved to Alaska to rediscover its great unknown. I moved to California for school in 2004 and have fallen in love with its zany liberalism, delicious food and complex politics.
To be as happy as possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Although I have not had many formal experiences in couch surfing through this site, I have had many couch surfing experiences in places like Ireland, the Netherlands, Peru and the United States.
Backpacking, cooking, gardening, travel, community development, natural resources, tourism, volunteering and sustainability.
Music, Movies, and Books
I recently saw Moonrise Kingdom and that was pretty good. I also like an eclectic mix of bluegrass, folk, rap and pop music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I love traveling to beautiful places. Growing up in Alaska gave me an appreciation for nature. I have hiked near Mt. McKinley (the tallest mountain in North America), sat on the edge of the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland and hiked up the side of Volcanoes on Lake Atitlan in Guatemala.
Countries I’ve Visited
