About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see what the world has to offer outside of my small hometown and meet some really amazing people, before I actually have to get a real job and life sets in. Currently I'm travelling Australia and experiencing the wonderfulness that this country has to offer!

ABOUT ME

I'm currently on a year off from school, I start university in the fall for Environmental Geoscience. I grew up in the same house in between two small houses for my whole life up until this point. The people were nice and the place was a safe place to be, but our biggest store was a Walmart and that was a huge event when that got put in. So I'm eager to see the world and what it has to offer! On my year off I've been in Australia being an au pair, and looking after a host family's kids as well as exploring the beautiful country. I try my best to be kind and accepting of people, which I learned from my great parents and my sister who is also my best friend! As a recent high school graduate and about to be a poor student I'm all for seeing places and things I never would have back home, plus it's everyone's dream to see the world, and I'm no exception. One day maybe I'll end up writing a book about all the adventures and people I've met, who knows.

PHILOSOPHY

Every place and every person has something else to offer, and staying in one place forever will only get you so far for so long. I may have no concrete ideas about my life but I know that sometimes the scariest of things and most outside of your comfort zone are the ones that will make you realize who you really are. The world is out there waiting for all of us.
Also don't let anyone tell you that your dreams aren't good, do what makes you happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently just surfing, hopefully when I have a place of my own I'll be able to host people as well, but right now seeing as I'm on the verge of being a poor student that's not an option yet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Currently none, but I hope to change that!

Interests

I love music, I've learned how to play piano, guitar, ukulele and the flute, even if I don't practice as much as I should. I love to run even though I just got back into it after leaving it for a couple of years. I read a lot, but I love to meet new people and get out there and see the world. I also love to make crafts and paint, most of the time they don't turn out that well but it's worth a shot. Pinterest is always a go to for that for me. I'm a fan of baking as well, my best dessert so far has been chocolate zucchini loaf, which tastes better than it sounds believe me. I also love to write! I love to ski, and swim, play board games, movies, all that fun stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Taylor Swift, definitely my all time fav, no shame in that. I like Ed Sheeran, Demi Lovato, Dan Mangan, The Lumineers, Vance Joy, and Walk off The Earth. I'm also a big fan of acoustic music and country music, also violins are my favourite instrument to listen to.
My favourite movie is The Blind Side, but the Harry Potter movies will always have a soft spot in my heart. Also It's Kind of a Funny Story and Perks of Being a Wallflower.
I love most books, I love all the Harry Potter books and John Green's Paper Towns and An Abundance of Katherine's, however I'll read anything!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved to Australia for four months to look after kids with a family I had only ever emailed and skyped with once, but getting to see the Mardi Gras parade in Sydney was also amazing with all the people on the streets, I don't think I've ever sen that many people at one time.
