To live life to the fullest and not be cynical people, have an open mind and accept people for who they are. Also to live without over consuming. The buddhist way of life can achieve this.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We just started using CS and because we are travelling we will only be using couches but hope to host people to stay at our home once we are settled.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My wife and I don't have much experience but hope to get more and meet great people. We will be surfing for awhile but hope to host when we settle down.

I completed Lars Valley in Peru with my wife. That was incredible. I also completed the 'w' in Torres del Paine in Patagonia, Chile. That was also an incredible experience.

I think it is important to travel with an agenda. I have always travelled through university, volunteer work, internships, and work and this way I was really able to learn countries. My best experiences were studying anthropology in Ecuador, completing a semester in Chile, and volunteering in Belize. These experiences created a feeling that made me feel I really know the country. Those countries have been my favourites around the world. I think this is important not to travel to a country without getting to knows the culture/people within in.
