ABOUT ME

I want to spend the next year of my life by traveling, meeting new people, learning about different cultures, and learning more about this planet and its people.

I grew up in Montréal, Québec. My social network being completely in French, I decided to do CÉGEP (college, in Québec) in English to be fully bilingual.

During my childhood, my father had to travel a lot for work and was often taking me with him in his adventures. This is probably why I love to travel so much today.

It will be my first Couchsurfing experience.

Interests

As a canadian, I love hockey, of course.
I also like other sports; from playing it to watching a game with some friends and beer.
I like to read and to listen to music.

Overall, I really like to learn. I love to discuss with people and to share point of views.
If the official language is not French or English, I will do everything I have to to learn a new language.

Music, Movies, and Books

Most of the books I've read were in French. However, in the past years, I've read in English (school readings).

My favourite books are the ones about human relations and philosophy. Michel Houellebecq is an author that inspired me a lot.

I love "old" music: from Velvet Underground, the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin, the Doors, and CCR, to Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Bob Marley, Nirvana, etc..

But I also enjoy more recent music such as Arcade Fire, the White Stripes, Radiohead, Oasis, etc.
In French, Harmonium, Jean Leloup, Karkwa, les Colocs, Offenbach, and Charles Aznavour are my favourite.

But that's mostly rock. I like all kinds of music. I also listen to rap (mostly from the east coast; being more poetic and less agressive). Wu-Tang Clan, Outkast, Masta Ace, Gangstar, and Jurassic 5 are my favourite (and also Eminem's first albums... because you know, its Eminem..)

Culture is something that I cherish. Discovering new ones, or simply new aspects of my own, is what drives me in life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn Dutch. At least a little bit (will probably take some kind of classes if everything goes according to my plans).

I would be a pleasure to teach French; a language that I master and love.
