About Me

ABOUT ME

I have been told that I have an engaging casual charm. I am considerate of others and like to be of help when it makes sense. I tend to be intuitive. I am enthusiastic about what I do and a good conversationalist with sprinkles of humor; that means I listen too! Music, as a professional conductor and clarinetist, is where I express my sense of wonder and spirit. I eat healthy, exercise and don't do bad things to my body or brain. My 11 year daughter has a special ability for being with and understanding people of all ages. People as just taken by her. She is a already a fine writer, enjoys all the current pop music. She speaks French well. We both like to explore and have a great time together.

Interests

I am a classical musician and that is quite engaging. I love to teach and love to learn, and love to explore: hiking in nature or walking around town. I will not just look at art in a museum I will read the descriptions and do further research to get more out of it. What I like to do includes exploring the world, nature, culture (art music, theater, movies) historical sites, beauty pf all kinds, hanging out in cafes, bookstores, playing games and sports. Conversational topics that grab my attention are far ranging: everyday life, how/why you came to be who you are and what you want to do if you care to share. Subject areas like health, economics, the markets, psychology, philosophy, literature, poetry, art, music, theater, nature, sites to see, etc. Quiet is also good for reading and studying. I play tennis and chess and sometimes write poetry.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing moment of all was my daughter's moment of birth and how just a minute afterwards her eyes were wide open and there was a person with a vibrant personality looking right at me!

On my last day in Prague on a tip I had dinner at a restaurant overlooking the castle as the sun was setting...a most amazing site! In Berlin there was a little park where there was a hand written sign that said, "Where here was The Wall, here now children shall play".

Musically I have been privileged to have had very deep and moving performances and experiences. I have been awestruck and humbled by the impact: There was a children's concert where I invited a young girl from a filled house of 1200 kids to come up to the stage and conduct with me. A picture was taken that appeared in the local paper...and the teacher later told me that this shy quiet girl came out of her shell that day. A psychologist told me of a patient whom has having major difficulties and was asking each week if there was something during the week that made life worth living. She quite some time she had nothing to point towards, then one day she said that she had been to my concert and it was so beautiful that that was worth being alive for.
