About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm an open-minded person who is gravitated towards the arts. I've spent most of my life in Toronto, and have built many fond memories in this city. If you're here and interested in checking out some new or different places, let me know!

PHILOSOPHY

I feel that it's important to remain open to life and the experiences it throws your way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Although I'm new to CS, I feel strongly about the community mission. It can be a daunting task trying to get around new places without any knowledge, and having a friendly face around definitely has an impact on your impression and experience anywhere.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet, but I hope that changes soon! :)

Interests

Although I would be categorized as an Art Geek, and yes learning about different cultures is important to me, i love traveling because of the beauty that can be found any location. It may be a man-made or natural sight, but every location on earth has something to offer.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh my! I like most of Kurt Vonnegut's novels, and for some reason The Giver (despite being a 'youth' novel that I read in elementary school) still stays in my mind as a book I thoroughly enjoyed, lol. As far as music goes, I'm really into Florence + the Machine right now, but I always find myself listening to Portishead when i'm in need of some inspiration. Top movies: Old Boy, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, Mary Poppins... and way too many to name in this section.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sounds silly, but this past week I made friends with a child at work who was originally considered 'difficult' due to his aggression. Though there was a strong language barrier (he's new to Canada, and only speaks Farsi) we managed to discover a mutual interest in animals, badminton and video games. He's also really into Enrique Iglesias, haha!

Teach, Learn, Share

For anyone visiting Toronto, I'd love to share the hidden gems of the city. It's easy to stay on the main roads and keep entertained, but there's so much more to see and do here! When traveling I like to try and find things that aren't necessarily touristy, because I feel that more can be learned about a culture through its local and everyday treasures. That's why CS is so appealing!

Countries I’ve Visited

Colombia, France, Italy, Spain
