When I was growing up my dad was in the United States Navy. This means I have moved several times in my lifetime. This was mostly in the United States (40 out of 50 states and counting), so far I've only been to a small part of Canada but we all have to start somewhere. In the coming years I am hoping on expanding my travels to the rest of the world and can't wait to meet you as I do it.

I'd also like to note that I'm not using this site as a hook-up to meet singles on the road (if you get what I'm saying). This is strictly for traveling and meeting locals in areas I've never been to so I can get to know the area and make new friends along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When you're staying alone in a hotel room it can quickly get boring and lonely. While staying in a hostel with other travelers is fun I still only get to learn about tourist things. Those are great sometimes but other times I want to know where the locals go. They go to the cheap places to eat and shop, the beautiful sites that aren't on common websites. I can't do that through hotels! Also, this is a way of saving money so I can spend it more where I want to, food, flights, awesome t-shirts, you name it!

Interests

I love learning areas histories and feel terrible that I didn't learn so many of these things in school. Writing and photography are my passion. I own a DSRL camera and am practicing on using it almost daily.

I went to hairdressing school and am about to test for my license. If people are interested I'm thinking of taking my tools with my on the road. You'll have to give me feedback if you want a haircut!

I've been trying to learn Swedish for years and recently took up an interest in Finnish. I'm not very fluent in either language I'm afraid. We better stick to English.

If you know of any horseback riding tours in the area, I'd love to go on one!

Music: pretty much anything that isn't rap, country, or heavy metal.

Books: I don't like reading.

Left my small town in the middle of nowhere Maine and moved to Honolulu, Hawaii at 18-years-old without knowing anyone here to go to school for barbering.
