I am a beekeeper, and I love to grow flowers and medicinal herbs in the garden. My front yard is full of hummingbirds, honeybees, and butterflies in the summertime. I used to travel a lot when I was in my twenties. I have lived in Israel, Slovakia, and Miami Beach, FL among other places. Now my favorite place to be is home with my family.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In my travels in the past, I always tried to stay with locals and learn about the culture from the inside out. I don't like the idea of staying in a hotel.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love listening to live music. Anytime I visit a new city, I try to find out where the best listening venues are. I especially love singer/songwriter venues. Books are too numerous to mention. Movies....lately I've been into music documentaries. I just enjoyed one about the group Gogol Bordello.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I co-founded a non-profit organization in my community to make our local dog pound a human facility. The reason this is amazing is because it was a monumental struggle to improve a system that was terribly cruel, sad, and inhumane. It took four years and a lot of determination, but the outcome is that the dogs in my community no longer suffer due to neglect, and there is more awareness. It is amazing to realize that one person working locally can make a difference.
