About Me

To take the scenic, back country route to wherever I end up going

I have recently moved to wonderful Nelson, BC! I don't know anybody but I thoroughly enjoy meeting new people who are going places I have never heard of. I plan to spend some quality time exploring my new backyard.

I love it when my friends send me postcards, and I have full intentions of sending a LOT of postcards from the places I go.

So much to do so much to see, so what's wrong with taking the back streets? You never know if you don't go.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I guess I am no longer new at this... I haven't hosted many people but I have met up with quite a few through a random collection of circumstances. Whether I was surfing, giving bike tours, or going on camping trips the people I have met along the way have left a lasting impression and have been the extra spice in my life.

If you are passing through Nelson, live in Nelson, or are anywhere close and want to meet up don't hesitate to drop me a line! I have a truck and am usually going hiking or camping on the weekends in the summer, or going for a bike ride after work. I think Nelson has the best food I have ever tasted and the beer is pretty tasty too! So if you want to go exploring, just let me know! :D

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in music changes by the hour, 8tracks usually has a heavy influence. I am unashamed to admit I know the words to quite a few country songs and have been known to sing along in my truck...on a pretty frequent basis. Roo Paynes, Kim Churchill, Milky Chance, The Mighty Oaks, Nick Mulvey, and Alt-J also pass through my head phones on a regular basis.

Favorite Book: Count of Monte Cristo.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked Jumbo Pass before the resort was built, sailed from Cartagena to Panama via the San Blas Islands, lived in Germany for four months, dove the Great Barrier Reef, hiked through the old growth forest at Carmanah Walbran on Vancouver Island, hitchhiked from Victoria BC to Arcata CA. :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Italy, Panama, Spain, Switzerland, United States
