About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn as much as possible about the #42 and sing more! Also, to learn more languages.

ABOUT ME

We are a couple who love going to festivals, hosting people and parties, having a few (or more) good drinks, playing music, and our cats. Neither of us have ever left the country (unless you count Tijuana) and we're about to embark on our first great, long-distance adventure. Ashley is a struggling writer who's going back to school to be a psychologist, and Aaron does construction by day and lays the foundation for rock-stardom at night.

PHILOSOPHY

We dig Gandhi.
And toe socks.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have woken up on many a strange couch, but not through this community yet :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ashley: This one time, at Burning Man... So we were walking in the deep Playa and in the distance observed a 30-foot tall slide called "The Wedge." There were wild hippies flinging themselves down it in a gleeful frenzy, and we decided to join them. Long story short, I crashed into the stairs coming down it and broke my finger. Cradling my wounded digit as we walked away from the cursed slide and choking back tears, I exclaimed that I just needed a shot of absinthe to help ease the pain and I'd be fine. Just as I said that, two men stopped with the bicycle contraption they were carrying along and announced that their cart was filled with absinthe, and that I was more than welcome to some.

Aaron: So for a few years I lived in a shitty desert where it was too hot and there was nothing to do. So one night a few friends and I decided to get lost in the never ending citrus groves a few miles out of town. Problem was we got ourselves more lost than we wanted and spent the entire night wandering aimlessly through the groves. At around dawn we found a road that lead back into town. The sun was up as we staggered towards the first stop light and I was thinking, "Wow, that was cool for a minute and then it sucked for so much longer. I feel terrible and a cigarette would make this so much better." Just then, a kid rode up on a bicycle and stopped in front of us and we stopped too. What was weird was that nobody said anything at all. What was even weirder was that the kid quietly reached in his bag for a cigarette, gave it to me and rode away with nothing more than a silent look of curious understanding.

Conclusion to 2 stories: Despite popular belief in the USA, people care about people and want to help when and where they can! We hope to be able to provide the same random and serendipitous assistance to fellow couch surfers :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Ashley is a talented and knowledgeable astrologer. She can teach you all about your signs and your horoscope, and how to navigate the stars. We can teach you how to make the most incredible Bloody Mary you've ever had in your entire life. Also, we can teach you some English, and Ashley can teach you Spanish. Aaron is good at lots of things, but he can't think of any off the top of his head. He can probably fix anything that's broken in your house. He can also teach you all about the 1960s... Even though he wasn't there. He knows how to sing and play lots of songs.
