About Me

My mission is to travel the world, meet new people, listen to and learn new languages, see and try new things, and ultimately experience moments that take my breath away.

Born in California and raised in Hawaii. I am mostly Japanese and Hawaiian with a bit of German, Scottish, and Irish. Barely an inch over 5 feet, I’m full of energy and have been told that I’m outgoing and hilarious. There isn’t anything that I wouldn’t try at least once. I love meeting new people and hearing and learning about what their life is like on a day to day basis. I strongly believe that everyone has a story worth telling…and I’m eager to listen.

Although I do enjoy the occasional sunrise I’m more of a night owl. I enjoy watching places come to life once the sun sets. I love the energy that comes with the night life of any city, however big or small. I may not be the world’s best singer or dancer, but man if there’s a catching tune or an infectious beat you can bet that I’ll be the first to get up and sing or dance.

I love and appreciate all types of art. From oil paintings to musical theatre. I believe that each form of art holds a bit of the artists soul, and I love seeing it, hearing it, and experiencing it. I would like to see every type of art from every country around the world. Impossible you say? I’m determined to make this happen. The world is my playground and I’m ready to play!

What would you do, where would you be, and who would you be if you weren’t afraid? Everyone has their own demons that they face. Imagine what life would be like if you lived without fear. Fear of heights, fear of drowning, fear of crowded rooms, fear of public speaking, fear of never finding love.

I think that fear should never determine how you live. Although there are many things that scare the crap out of me, I do my very best to never let it control what I can and can’t do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m very new to the entire CouchSurfing network so I have to say that my participation is, at the moment, very minimal. I hope that this will change in the near future!

I love and appreciate all types of art. From paintings, to sculptures, to performance art… I love it all!

I enjoy singing and dancing. I’m not a professional at either, but when no one’s looks like to pretend that I am. If music were a man, I’d marry him! The fact that a few simple notes can convey so many emotions is just amazing.

I love trying new foods. There isn’t anything too slimy or too hot that I won’t try. As long as it won’t leave me in the restroom for days, I’ll be the first to take a bite!

I love ALL types of animals…well almost all types of animals. Snakes, bats, and rats, are on my “learning to love” list.

Once and a while I enjoy a good movie. A movie that doesn’t necessarily make me cry, or laugh, or think about whether or not the two main characters finally got together, but more so a movie that just entertains me for 2 hours or so.

As lame as this may sound, I do love scrapbooking. I think that a picture is worth a thousand words, but a picture in a scrapbook is worth so many more. I love writing little captions under the photo and adding souvenirs to the page…it just makes that memory much more memorable.

Nature and I used to be pretty close, sadly that is no longer the case. I love and appreciate all that nature has to offer, but would like to experience a bit more of it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At a little over 5 feet I am always tell me friends and family that I was made tiny because I’m deathly afraid of heights. If I were 6 feet tall, I’d be too afraid to even walk. With that being said I went skydiving, which to date, is the most exhilarating experience I have ever had! I jumped out of a perfectly good airplane!
