As a host I give out a key and leave people to their own devices. As a surfer you should not worry about offending your host just by spending time alone, which has been my experience as a surfer. At the end of the day you travel to do what YOU like.

I am very friendly and will recommend places and give advice if asked, but I dont do the tour guide bit. If I connect with a guest and I'm doing something I think they may enjoy I may offer for them to come with. I wouldn't recommend sending me a request if you are dependent on a host to spend time with you or if you would like a chaperone. As a surfer this is what I preferred so this is how I host.

It's important to me that guests are friendly and respectful to other guests/housemates.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I recently spent time overseas and was supported and spoiled by some great hosts. I want to help out OS travellers now and be a host in the way the best ones were - if I'm free and we click, great! If not, all good, enjoy Adelaide and do your own thing.

For male guests, I am not on Couchsurfing to pick up. If you hit on me in my home I will ask you to leave, cheers.
