Hello!
My name is Leire, I'm from Spain, but right now I'm living in Sweden as an exchange student. I love to travel, and recently I've been to Estonia, Latvia and Poland.

I'm studying a degree on Modern Languages, which is basically like English Philology but adding Spanish, Basque and another language among French, German, Chinese, Arabic, etc. I chose French cause I had already studied it for some years, but I'd like to study German and Italian in the future.

Apart from that, I love playing sports, especially basketball, I've been playing for 13 years, but I also like roller skating, dancing and going to the gym. So whenever I feel stressed or I need some rest from my daily live, I play some sport.

To meet cool people that can give me a local's perspective on the cities I visit, as well as doing the same in reverse!

I really believe that the majority of knowledge in this world cannot be attained from Google or university textbooks, but from the mouths of others. Open the world up to yourself and you expand your brain!

I usually travel with a friend who is studying the same as me. I prefer to have someone to share the experiences with, instead of traveling on my own, so that's why I'm here!!! :)

Interessen

Music: I've never played any instrument (well, any interesting instrument, I used to play poxpolin and the flute at school), but I enjoy music, especially being with friends chilling, playing the guitar and singing.

Cinema: I love watching films and going to the cinema, although I don't go very often since it's quite expensive and I'm usually busy...

Sport: As I said, I like any kind of sport, especially team-sports like basketball, which is my favourite! But I also like to play volley in the beach or tennis.

Food: I cannot name a single thing I tried and didn't like, I'm into every kind of cuisine, especially Mexican, Asian and Spanish. Besides, since moving out of home I've developed a love for cooking and look forward to my weekly trip to the supermarket where I can decide what to cook!

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Music: It depends on the moment, if I go partying, for example, I like latin music (bachata, salsa...) and reggaeton, but I also like some commercial house. On the contrary, if I'm chilling at home, I prefer something like melodic songs (Boyce Avenue, Ed Sheeran...) or reggae.

Movies: I like action films, especially Tarantino's style (Django unchained, Reservoir dogs, Pulp Fiction, etc), those kind of thought-provoking films (Law abiding citizen, Seven) and those based on WWll (Schindler's list, The Pianist, Inglorious bastards)

Books: I don't have a favourite genre, I like the classics like Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre, but I also like books like 1984, Harry Potter, Brave New World, etc.

I want to contribute to the household tasks and really make my host enjoy having me. I also want to cook dinner and other meals (Spanish omellette for instance).
I want to make it clear that I'm not using CouchSurfing as a way to find free accommodation - I have the money for hostels, and if accommodation were all I wanted I would be on Hostelworld.com, not this website! I'm looking to learn from people and gain local insights into the places I visit, whilst expanding my horizons and enriching my personality through the irreplaceable method of human interaction. I want to trade stories, live, laugh and have fun with a stranger in a new place - what better way to travel!
