ABOUT ME

I've done my travels in Asia and South America. I'm on a mission now to learn about food security and work out how I can help at home. I'm here volunteering at the moment www.goodgrub.org - this is what I want to do at home!

Dave (my partner who I will probably travel with) and I are very non-violent types. We would prefer to discuss rather than argue, a heated tone of voice is not acceptable for us.

I like to take life easy, I tried stress and it didn't work for me. You know what they say...."Life is not a dress rehearsal"...

I'm travelling at the moment but will host in the future. I've hosted before, but not on this website..

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've always had an open door and can squash lots of people into a small space! But it's always been fun and I've always learnt something new from the people who stay with me. Now it's my turn to stay with someone!

Outdoors stuff, skiing, rafting, bush walking, growing food, kayaking, sailing, getting my hands dirty, music - listening to and attempting to play, reading, dabbling in artsy stuff - knitting, paper crafts, pottery i love!, not watching tv, good conversation, cooking and great food, daytime drinks and learning in general!

music wise - i'm a fan of all things australian. I'll listen to almost anything, I love to see live music and up and coming bands. I used to play sax and piano and can hit a few notes if I try now and I royally suck at guitar and wish that wasn't the case. Dave loves to play drums/guitar and listens to 80s punk..or any punk really.

I'll read almost anything except sci fi. Think John Marsen, Barbara Kingsolver, Amy Tan, um, lots of others - my memory isn't so good!

Movies/tv, not so much...but they are there for when my brain needs some grey time. Think Black Books, Bill Bailey, Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels, The Colour Purple, Pricilla Queen of the Desert, Two Hands, Candy, Cohen Bros films etc

I don't feel the need to watch things like A Clockwork Orange no matter how good the Cinematography is. I just don't need to see that stuff and waste precious hours in life being horrified and sick to my stomach!

ran off a 10 metre high cliff into the ocean because no one else would. I broke a rib but it was worth it!
