About Me

To enjoy myself and enjoy the company of others.

I am currently living aboard my 50-foot ocean-going ketch "Surabaya Girl" in Haslar Marina Gosport Hampshire. I can only host on my yacht at the moment.

I want to live my next life backwards:

I'll start out dead and get that out of the way.
Then I'll wake up in an old age home feeling better every day.

Then I will get kicked out for being too healthy, enjoy my retirement and collect my pension.

Then when I start work, I'll get a gold watch on my first day. I will work 40 years until I'm too young to work.

Then I'll get ready for High School, drink alcohol, party, and be generally promiscuous.

Then I will start to go to primary school, I've become a kid, and I will play and have no responsibilities.

I can't wait to become a baby, and then...

I want to spend my last 9 months floating peacefully in luxury, in spa-like conditions - central heating, room service on tap, and then...

To finish off as a huge gigantic orgasm.

"I expect to pass through this world but once.
Any good thing that I can do or any kindness I can show
to any fellow creature let me do it now.
Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again."

Stephen Grellet, 1773-1855

I am a great believer in the Six Degrees Of Separation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hosted Barbara from southern Spain in the Spring 2004. Collected her from London Gatwick. A wonderful lady in her mid 60's who was in urgent need of passport photographs and a visa to travel in India. Took the passport pictures and the we rode to central London on the motorbike, she could not use the London Underground due to claustrophobia. I waited with her at the Indian High Commission for the visa which had to be obtained in person. Her son could not believe she rode to London and back as a pillion on my bike!!

Hosted Christina from Shirley Mass USA in the Summer 2004, met her in central London and showed her round London and locally. Very nice girl. Stayed for a week.

Whilst touring, I met Simon and Kirsten in Rome, Italy October 2004 and they urgently needed a camping stove for their onward tour of Spain. I lent them my Trangia cooker as I was not requiring it during my five day journey home as I intended to use the IYHA in northern Italy, France, Switzerland and Luxemburg.

In late December they visited the UK, and returned my cooker and stayed for two months couching with me and using my home as a base when they toured England, Scotland and Wales. A truly nice couple from Adelaide, Australia.

Then take me disappearing through the smoke rings of my mind,
Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves,
The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach,
Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow.
Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free,
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands,
With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves,
Let me forget about today until tomorrow.

Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me,
I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to.
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me,
In the jingle jangle morning I'll come followin' you.
