About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be accountable

ABOUT ME

Never lets a friend down. Makes other people's happiness a priority. Relaxed. Soccer fanatic. Shy at first, opens up to friends. Gambler.

PHILOSOPHY

Be the change you want to see in the world.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been doing this for 2 years or so now. It is a lot of fun!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I know of a few people who have used this and have had great experiences. I have a spare room that is going to waste in Seoul, so I thought, why not?

Interests

Soccer in all its forms. No place I would rather be than watching an important game at a football bar with my friends. I play goalie, but dream of being a striker. My teams never let me, unfortunately.

Games of all kinds, in particular chess. I have learned how to play Chinese chess as well. I spend too many hours on the weekends playing blitz chess in local parks.

Music. I play the violin, but less seriously than earlier in my life.

Food. I enjoy many, many cuisines and would be hard pressed to pick a favorite. Although a double cheeseburger with bacon is hard to beat.

Art. I wish I had the ability to be an artist, but I cannot draw a straight line. I enjoy learning about artists from all over the world. Most of what I have learned in life has been from the western cannon. One of my favorite artists is Albrecht Duerer. In particular, I like his etchings.

Music, Movies & Books

Hemingway, Dostoevsky, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Bach, Vivaldi, Chopin, Tupac, Nas, top 40.

All movies (save chickflicks)

One Amazing Thing I've Done

I have had the good fortune to have traveled all over the world and in the course of these travels meet people from many different places. To pick a few singular moments in my life seems somewhat trite. It is all one big experience for me that I hope can continue.

I jumped out of a moving object 15,000 feet in the air once. Never again.

If I had to list one thing and one only, it would be my journey to Antarctica in the Winter (Summer in Antarctica) of 2012-13

Countries I've Visited

Antarctica, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Jamaica, Korea, Republic of, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom

Countries I've Lived In

United States
