Overview
About Me
26 year-old student from Germany
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Thanks to CS, my then back 18-year-old self not only got to know summer rolls as a dish in Melbourne, but also had the opportunity to listen to the sounds of a professional whistler in the following years as a host together with my flatmates in Germany (at that time, unfortunately, via another account, which is why there are no reviews here yet).
I have met very open, diverse and exciting people in the CS community and am thrilled every time anew by this magical moment when the paths of strangers cross and they become short-term confidants or maybe even long-term friends.
Due in part to Corona, however, I honestly somewhat forgot about CS in recent years. All the more reason for me to make the platform part of my upcoming trip to Austria. In order to fulfill a long-standing dream, I’ll spent 10 days in the snow to become a skiing instructor.
I’m looking forward to meeting new faces and getting a glimpse on their culture and history in exchange for my own. In my luggage I have a lot of good humor and laughter as well as an open ear in several languages (German, English, Spanish and fragmentary French, also hands and feet in case of need).
Interests
I‘m passionate about foreign languages and topics concerning climate and sustainability on a macro as well as on a micro level. Also, I like playing volleyball and going for a run and absolutely adore skiing (I'm well aware of the possible contradiction to the preceding sentence here, but growing up in a ski-crazy family, I've unfortunately not yet been able to resolve this moral paradox for myself).

Music, Movies, and Books
I like listening to indie and electronic sounds but can enjoy pretty much all kinds of music (maybe except for heavy metal). Also I‘m looking back on a rather miserable career as a saxophone player in the local band of my hometown. I‘m not much of a movies person but can get very excited when it comes to literature. I try to integrate reading books into daily uni life as much as possible. My New Year’s resolution for 2023 was to at least read one book per month - so far, I‘m still going.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I had the opportunity to live in Mexico City for a few months and since then I've been trying to get all my loved ones to move there so I don't have to choose between both worlds. So far, not very successfully though… :)
And definitely hiking the Fishermen’s trail in Portugal last autumn.
What I Can Share with Hosts
German pancakes, laughter and miserable saxophone skills. :)
