About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Surf London while I attend school during the summer!

ABOUT ME

Although I wouldn't try do describe myself on a bet, since I have to I'll summarize a bit here :)

I am 24 years old, born from Turkish parents but I've long since stopped being turkish. Born and raised in Sweden my whole life, but I wouldn't even say that I am swedish, just a free spirit.

Starting to do acting for a living, or rather hope to, hence why I want to move to London since Sweden is the last place in the world you want to be if you got an appetite for culture ;-)

I see myself as a suave cool guy, very sociable and get along with people great. I love reading about philosophy and biographies of interesting humans beings who have come before me, and having a good time amongs friends with a good drink, some good food and a lovely cigar after a full meal :)

I love nature, there is a million things to look at and enjoy from nature, especially animals. I actually wanted to be an animal conservationist when I was younger, might pick up on that one day too. Not short of ambitions.

I love traveling, and I plan to sail around the seven seas as soon as I get enough time to get a 30" boat, and see where the winds take me. I am also definitely up for BICYCLING around europe ;-) I love the vagabond lifestyle, and if I can do acting to keep myself afloat while doing it, perfect.

You can also visit my blog at Http://burakenk.blogspot.com which I don't update anymore and don't plan to update in the future either but for some back-logg stuff you can always randomly click on the links if you are curious.

PHILOSOPHY

Go where my luck takes me and be open minded.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just started out because I need a place to stay at while in London, so I need to surf around. I'd like to find a nice squat preferably.

Since I am living with my parents in Sweden as of writing this I am not 100% sure if I can offer a place to crash but this might change as I get into couch surfing more since I do love to give back just as I receive.

I hope in the near future to give a helping hand, right now though I am looking for surfing the couches like a wave and get tons of experience starting in London!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None so far unfortunately. Hopefully that'll change though!

Music, Movies, and Books

Last Tango In Paris, Oldboy, Seven Samurai, Godfather 1 & 2, Synecdoche New York, The Lion In Winter, Runaway Train, The Machinist etc.

As for books I only read philosphy (just started) and biography books: Shakespeare, Stanislavki's books, The History of Love (only exception as far as fiction) etc

And music? A million soundtracks from films!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled around the states for a little bit. Sitting at the greyhound bus terminal at 2am in NY city talking with a bunch of people, one of whom asked how far away Stockholm is with bus, was amazing. Then taking 20 minute naps on the greyhound bus that was going so fast I thought the driver had stolen the vehicle just to wake up to see 4-5 amish people board the bus made my life. The only thing I could think of then was "made it in americuuh".

New York is an amazing city. Later meting a girl I met in San Diego in Istanbul where we shared a tiny TINY room with THREE beds (wtf?) in a hostel was hilarious. Waking up to our neighbors who were, by the looks of, working in a sweat-shop, trying to peer into our windows hoping to catch some sort of foreign sex-show or something. Hilarious.

Teach, Learn, Share

Don't take everything too seriously. Calm down. Use you're common sense and be smart, don't be stupid :)

Quality always over quantity.
