Enjoy life - and respect others! http://www.42.org/42.html and of course: Hosting & surfing!
What goes around comes around. It really does.
Oh, and that one - treat others as you would like to be treated.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I.e. I am Welcoming new members. (As a member of the NMW group, I used to greet newbies, and give as much advise as I know.), promoting my lovely regions Upper and Lower Franconia and of course our local Wiki - ...and much more, like moderating the groups for Bamberg, Coburg, UpperFranconia, Lower Franconia, Rural CS Germany, Rural Map CS Germany & Family Welcome Map Germany (until CS was $old!)
Actually I did couch surfing 25 years ago. The rest of the story? Just check my profile... :)
And for YOUR best CS experience - read this:
(I added this info here, to save posting it in forums - BLUE WORDS (below) are links.)
Like some general info on where to go in Europe...
For your trip, here is my advice: If you are new - read http://www.visiteurope.com/en/
Accommodation - CS, what else??
(Very important: NEVER consider hotel/hostels again!)
And about transportation - look here for Budget flights, Eurail and for German trains (and new long distance busses and rideshare): https://www.busliniensuche.de/
For cycling info check Biketrip.org and German cycling experience.
And if you like my city http://www.bamberg.info/ on the left, you are most welcome! Just send me a message (better couch request) - so I know if and when you're coming! :)
I copied this slide show, which would require some updating, to educate CouchSurfers about fund-raising by "verification" and the meaning of the green checkmark.
You can use it freely by downloading it, or by adding this html code to your page:
All statements are made in good faith and are accurate to the best of my knowledge. They are there so that members can make their decision whether to donate or get verified based on more complete information, not just the information and unsubstantiated claims given by CouchSurfing.
And another useful site I came accross!
PLEASE NOTE: I prefer couch requests via http://www.Bewelcome.org/LeopoldR my NEW home!

Music, Movies, and Books
First Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis!!! Also worth watching: Australia! And before? Well, my favorite book for some time is The Hitchhiker's guide to galaxy, although it may take some time until I make it there. :) On music I change between Bach and of course Mozart. Well and there are a few artists, I.e. Paul McCartney (3x), Electric Light Orchestra (twice), Mark Knopfler, Dire Straits (twice), Santana, Yes, UB40, Queen (3x), Manfred Mann's Earth Band, Paul Simon, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Jethro Tull, The Rolling Stones. Seen all of them LIVE and you can look at the tickets at my place! :D Oh, I forgot the books. There are a lot, due to my many interests. If you want to read some German books NOW - look here. You don't speak German? No problem, check this - to learn German, online and FREE!
