About Me

CURRENT MISSION

looking to meet people while vacationing or visiting places!

ABOUT ME

I am 31 and live with family, being disabled, but intend to find some ways to pass the time by traveling if I am able (taking care of my mother, who has had a stroke and massive heart attack in the last 18+ months). I am a meteorology buff that loves severe weather, but generally despises winter weather. I have an interest in philosophy, history, religion, science, politics, and psychology...and am generally passionate about some of these topics, especially history, religion, politics, and psychology. But don't worry - I don't bite! I am agnostic yet godmother to three beautiful kids, a 19 year old girl, 17 year old boy, and 9 year old boy. They are the lights of my life and bring me comfort in stressful situations and joy in happy times. I have 3 cats, ages 6 months to 3 years old (my 18 year old cat passed away in april 2012), and one dog, born june 4th, 2012. I attended college at Ohio DOminican University and studied philosophy and english, nearly double majoring (didn't because I have a distinct dislike for Shakespeare and Chaucer). I attended CSCC and studied a variety of topics, from literature, math, philosophy, politics, and history to philosophy. College was what I consider to be the best time in my life for personal growth and intellectual development. I used to work as a skiptracer/investigator on contract with US DOE through an outside company, until mid-2009. I love art museums, science museums, rennaisance fests, war memorbilia and weaponry and anything considered an oddity by most people. I have friends all over the world and would like to visit each of them, though most of them are right here in the USA (others are in Canada, France, and Germany).

PHILOSOPHY

Be passionate, but respectful. Be open to discussion. Find history everywhere you are. Learn something new everywhere you find that history. Appreciate your experiences, both the good times and the struggles, as these are what define "life."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been to Vegas with people I met online, which is something I had never done before, haha. This was in 2007. It was a very fascinating trip that left me with an understanding of when to RUN away, not walk, haha.

I recently went on a road trip to Minnesota and Missouri to see aunts and uncles and their children on my mother's side of the family. We went in my mother's new prius (3rd generation), which is an absolutely FANTASTIC car!

I went to SC in 2002 and spent a weekend catching crabs with marshmallows (though I didn't eat them...I am nearly a vegetarian!).

I went to DC in 1997 for July 4th and watched the fireworks on the Mall. I returned to Baltimore/DC area in 2005 to visit a friend.

I went to the Bahamas in 1993 with my father and swam with the dolphins. It was a great experience, capped off by a moment of hilarity for all our fellow tourists (and pink cheecks for me!) when my father lost his trunks while being pushed on the feet through the water by two dolphins. EVERYone bought the tourist-trap VHS and I continue to be astounded today that this video never ended up on AFV!

I attended my first RennFest in 1997, procuring my first piece in my weaponry collection at this time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am really good with literature and various philosophical and religious topics, and well-versed in mental health topics and ethical issues.

I like to learn about the simple life. I really would like to talk to someone who homesteads. I would love to pick the brain of someone who knows of someone or themselves has an interest in self-sustained living and small houses. I LOVE small houses.

I also love to learn interesting facts and experiences from peoples' pasts and the eras from which they were born.

I am also an avid collector of knives, swords, and historical weapons and would love to see anything anyone I stay with has that might be in that same vein. This stuff fascinates me to no end.
