A Genetics and Biotechnology student from Peru. I love my career, but if I hadn't fallen for it so hard, I would have studied translation, since I like learning languages so much. I like discovering new things (especially food! except spicy), listening to the sound of violins (even more if its's from street performers) and wearing pajamas on Sundays (and some other lazy days).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love travelling! This seems like a great opportunity to do it while meeting more people.
- learning new things
- meeting new people

Music, Movies, and Books
Gone with the Wind and A Tale of Two Cities have special places in my heart. I also like The Book Thief or other books that made me cry, as well as Harry Potter and Narnia since I grew up reading them.
I like most kind of music but mostly instrumental, pop or rock.
I don't think I have an ultimate favorite movie, but The Imitation Game and Easy A are a couple of movies I never mind rewatching.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've climbed to the top of the Rainbow Mountain in Cusco, at more than 5,000 meters (15,000 ft) above sea level, and did not die in the attempt.
Swam with turtles in Mexico! (the amazing part is I can't swim).
Teach, Learn, Share
I love teaching! Especially to kids. I particularly like teaching biology and science in general to young minds but have had more opportunities to teach maths.
When it comes to sharing, I love sharing experiences and knowledge. Especially about science and opportunities. With that in mind, I've organized and presented 2 talks about Science Communication and Building Opportunities in Science in the North and Center of Peru, instructing over 250 students. I am also a part of a community that aims to promote science in Peru: the REPU community. As a member, I have traveled across Peru and given virtual talks to fight the centralization in my country and spread research opportunities that the community offers.
I really enjoy learning, which is one of the reasons I got into science. However, I like learning about almost every topic, not just science (although science IS a personal favorite). Languages are something I like learning too. And I have never been too good at playing musical instruments, but have always wanted to learn to play the violin.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Food! It is difficult to find Peruvian ingredients around the world, but I will do my best.
Spanish/English practice or lessons.
I also like teaching biology and maths to kids.
Interesting conversations if you are up for it :)
