About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get over my fear of backpacking alone and satiate my wanderlust. To meet all sorts of people and lifestyles so that my writing can become more lifelike. To continue writing stage and screen plays as I travel. To find a new way of living that I can live happily.

ABOUT ME

Heyo! I'm Lilienne Lethe and I've had the strongest urge to travel and live on the road for almost a decade now. I'm constantly changing my hair color and style, and I have an eclectic fashion sense (I am currently struggling to find a way for my love of fashion and my love of backpacking to coexist peacefully without strain on my back...). I'm usually quite polite and considerate of the people around me, but it is also easy for me to forget this should I become excited about a topic of conversation or event. I am very expressive and am not afraid to be different because I love the person I am. I'm very passionate and excited to nerd out about the things I love. I'd like to say I'm open-minded, but there are many things I don't know that I don't know about, and of the things I do know, I can be somewhat opinionated. I am however vocal about politics, education, feminism and civil rights for the genderqueer community, and always welcome discussions on such topics.

PHILOSOPHY

There's always another path, another choice, and a different perspective to find.
I've fought with depression for a decade without realizing I had it, but I always knew that despite how horrible I felt, things will get better if I actively search for it.
My goals are not pipe dreams, but it will take a considerable amount of confidence, support, and preparation to achieve.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm hoping that through couchsurfing I can meet other travelers and join them, or at least assuage my fear of traveling alone without a safe place to rest for the night. I think that by meeting these people I can grow more confident in my decisions.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None so far. I think this site could help my travels in the states however!

Interests

Stories of all kinds! Doctor Who, theatre and acting in general, fairies, mythology and folk stories of all kinds, video games, tabletop and role-playing games, learning languages such as Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Gaelic, Arabic, and Hebrew. Photography, camping and hiking, fashion and textiles, Do-It-Yourself projects, poi and hooping, and just learning new and interesting things.

Music, Movies, and Books

YES! I absolutely LOVE talking about stories, whether they be from books, movies, musicals, games, or personal experiences. I'm partial to fiction and psychological stories, but if someone is passionate that I read something I will try it out (I'm determined to always travel with one book regardless of my pack load.
As for music, I do enjoy many styles and have eclectic tastes, but I enjoy blues and southern rock the most. I also sing and am learning the erhu.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Gave up my life in the north and moved to Georgia with $500 to my name; managed to make a great many epiphanies and friends along the way.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always willing to learn knew things! Currently I'd like to learn ASL, Korean, sailing, or writing techniques, as well as tips for traveling and hitchhiking, in the United States or outside, as a solo female traveler.
I'm also willing to look for erhu players, however I'm unable to bring mine with me traveling.
I'm not quite sure what I can teach yet. I have alot of "useless" knowledge, but finding people who might be interested will be part of my journey.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A bright personality and nerd culture!
