About Me

Equal parts stodgy academic and wildly artsy filmmaker, just trying to figure out my purpose on this big space rock I call home.

PHILOSOPHY

-do whatever you want, unless it hurts someone else

-if it's yellow, let it mellow

-never hang up the phone without saying "i love you"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm traveling by myself in the Pacific Northwest this summer, looking for adventures and good stories to tell when I get back. I want you to be a part of my stories! Also, I will be filming parts of my trip for a long-term documentary project I am working on, you could be part of that too if you wanted!

So far, I've only ever been a host and I am excited to (hopefully) be hosted for the first time this summer! Whenever I have a place that will allow for it, I've hosted friends, and on many occasions, traveling musicians in Santa Cruz ( my friends organize shows at Subrosa and I used to live in a house with a very comfy couch so I was always quick to volunteer my home!)

Interests

Hair dye, anything pertaining to film, zines, intersectional feminism, coffee, board games, VHS aesthetics, what's acceptable to put into a burrito, the application of theory to practice, dancing like a fool, staring up at the night sky and pondering the existence of extraterrestrial life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything I can groove to, anything that makes me feel something.

Pop punk, indie, synth and folk. Horror, sci fi, cheesy rom-coms. Existential fiction aimed at melancholy 20-somethings, and choose-your-own-adventure books aimed at children.

I am on a mission to watch the entire filmography of John Waters by the end of this year.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently started a collaborative zine project that is on its' third volume and I am pretty stoked about that!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a pretty good cook and would love to cook you a meal! And I have some really funny stories to tell you.

On a broader/sappier note, I am embarking on a pretty big adventure this summer, and I would love to share that adventure with you, even just for a night.
