I love travelling and have done more in the past 3 years than I ever have. I've learned to really enjoy solo travel, that's partly due to my experience on CS. I work as an administrative assistant and English Conversation Tutor. I'm about to get an office space so I can focus on building my tutoring practice. Also looking forward to becoming a Life Coach in the future.

I love talking with people and also like time alone. As a guest I look forward to spending time with hosts, but I'm very independent if you're busy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A new goal of mine is to meet new people during my travels. Most of my recent trips have been with friends or colleagues so I didn't meet a lot of new people. Two of the best things in life are making new friends and seeing new places so Couchsurfing is a great opportunity to do both.

Interests

I'm really interested seeing as much of Europe as I can right now. I love visiting museums and seeing the old architecture. I love taking photos of the places I visit. Other interests are listening to live music & dancing, reading, bickram yoga, hiking.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music - especially 80's music, reggae, classical, indie. Some favorites - Journey, Van Halen, Tom Petty, Switchfoot, Bruno Mars, Adele, Maroon 5. Favorite book and a favorite movie - To Kill a Mockingbird. Love romantic comedies, historical period pieces, & British comedies. Currently reading a book by Brene Brown called the Gifts of Imperfection. Interesting book on human connection.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

June 2015 I went on a backpacking trip with another girlfriend. I hadn't been backpacking in over 20 years. We were inspired by the movie, "Wild." We backpacked in Emmigrant Wilderness which is north of Yosemite National Park in California. We hiked around 24 miles and had a great experience! June 2016 we went on another trip to the Santa Cruz mountains in California. Last April I spent 6 weeks in Europe on a solo trip and part of what made it an amazing is that I met some really kind, generous & interesting people through Couchsurfing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I tutor Japanese students in English conversation. I would be happy to practice English with anyone - I'm not sure how much of a stretch that is since I only speak English, but it is something I do for work and love !
