About Me

Hi, my name is Lisa, I'm 29 years old and from Ireland. Let's meet up and see where the day/night takes us 😃

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm couchsurfing because I feel there is no better way to get a true feel of a place than to meet the locals. I am a real culture seeker and I find interacting and socializing with locals in the area can really give you a true sense of what makes it so great. From where to eat to what to see , locals know best and can guide you through the real hidden gems of a place.
I would consider myself a real people person and I love meeting new people who can show you a new side to life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a big Netflixs watcher. I love watching a series and becoming engrossed for days on end. I am very interested in documentaries as they open up a while new world to the viewer ( like the one direction documentary 😂😂). On the reading front I have to admit I am far from a seasoned reader. I like books with a comedy theme but I also like more hard hitting biographies. Music wise I have such a mix of musical interests. I am both a mainstream and little gems listener but my favourite has to be old school music which brings you back in time .

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This section can be very subjective and my not seen very amazing to others but here's mine. I used to a very cautious person , constantly making excuses not to step outside my comfort zone. I took a year out after my bachelor degree to figure out what I wanted to do . I made great plans with a friend to travel but when they fell through I was left with no job and no plans. Instead of doing my usual and getting back into daily life I booked a plane ticket to cambodia and a place in a volunteer house. ALL BY MYSELF I set off. That alone was an amazing thing for me but little did I know how it would change my outlook on life forever. I thought English to the poorest children of phnom penh in a french run charity school. It was very challenging but the rewards outweighed everything. I made life long friends, hopefully made a difference in some lives and most important I came out of my comfort zone to experience what life has to offer. My volunteering stretched out to an HIV orphanage in the city. I started a gofundme page and raised money to send three girls to school and give them a chance at life that most of us take don't appreciate.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to experience new cultures and ways of life so couchsurfing is ideal with me. I would like to have interact with the hosts, if even over a coffee for 10 minutes and be able to say " o I know someone from ....".
Let's share experiences with each other ☺

What I Can Share with Hosts

If accepted by a host I can assure many conversations about how much it rains in Ireland. I can share with them my experiences of growing up in Ireland and how we as a society function.
I can speak fairly good Irish so if you are interested in learning a few phrases I'm your girl.
I am a qualified English language teacher so if you need help with your spoken or written English I would be happy to help.
If the host is fond of a night out I would only love to act as their bar buddy 🍸🍺
I can promise a friendly face to see everyday and an open ear for a chat.
I am very clean and tidy and will leave a place as clean as I got it.
