I enjoy being pushed outside of my comfort zone and opening up my perspectives through new experiences with people, places and challenges.
I am a fun, easy-going individual who pretty much gets along with everyone. To me, the glass is (almost) always half full and I like to look on the bright side and make the most out of every experience that I'm presented with.
I reap great satisfaction out of outdoor adventures and appreciate learning about different traditions, values and ways of life through travel.
Some of my personal passions include skiing, cycling, hiking and cooking, eating, and writing about food - check out my blog at Thaicurryinkorea.wordpress.com. Not very content to sit around and let life pass me by, I like to seek out new and different challenges. In the end, it's best in my mind to sit back, relax, and enjoy life with a healthy sense of humor.
We're here for a good time, not a long time. (Stolen from the Wooden family book of truths)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am new to Couchsurfing but I have always heard nothing but rave reviews. A bit guilty of never being a host in the past, it was due to my last two years spent in a cramped, larvae-infested apartment that I really would not want to subject anyone else to.
Only a couchsurfer by association, I have met and helped entertain various individuals who came to town on someone else's couch and always enjoyed the meetings and look forward to joining the friendly community!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Ecclectic tastes depending upon my mood. Currently getting sucked into indie tastes such as Empires of the Sun, Of Monsters and Men, Washed Out and Miike Snow; loyal to classics such as Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones; and in touch with my harder side when cranking Mos Def or Blackalicious and There's nothing better to cook to than the Gypsy Kings or a nice world music selection either.
Movies: I guiltily admit my adoration of romantic comedies, "The Holiday" being the absolute finest specimen. I also get goosebumps watching "Almost Famous."
Books: Favorite being "One Hundred Years of Solitude" although I need a refresher of the family tree. Always entertained by Barabara Kingsolver novels and love educating myself with historical fiction.
