ABOUT ME

I live in a beautiful little suburb within walking distance of the city. My partner, David, and I have been there for over three years with Zeppelin the cat. We conveniently have nearly identical taste in... everything, really, so assume I refer to both of us when I say we like:

Music. This is number one - none of this commercial rubbish, though. Old blues, soul, garage, rock as well as the best of now (we can go into that later). We like it live, on vinyl, in the car, on the street.

Movies - generally speaking, classics, foreign, blockbuster, comedy, etc. Our favourites are the Arthur movies with Dudley Moore. Kills us every time. Wary of chick flicks.

Great TV series: Sopranos, West Wing, X-Files, The Office (UK version), Columbo, Arrested Development, etc. Yet to see the Wire.

Food: Quality, not quantity. Would be happy eating Italian, French, Japanese and Spanish for the rest of my days. I like their food, too.

A drink or two: Far from being raging alcoholics, but we do love a few beers or wines while we socialise. Or a scotch and dry.

Individually - me: Reading. I can digest page turners at breakneck speed, but I like to stretch myself and study Vonnegut and Holmes and others that make me feel woefully inadequate as a wannabe writer. I am into politics (Australian and American), philosophy, history, as well as all the aforementioned things. I'm just interested in general. I am a loungeroom guitarist and singer (note: NOT a lounge singer), but my efforts pale in comparison to David's.

David: He is an extremely gifted musician and I'm well jealous. A wicked sense of humour. Passionate about people and culture and those other things I already wrote about. He will probably not like this assessment of him, but this is my profile and I call the shots.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We hosted a surfer before we even joined. We adopted her from couchsurfing friends because she was so delightful and she ended up staying with us again several months later. We figured it's a terrific way to extend ourselves from the mundane.

Interests

Hmm, I covered this. Alright, in a nutshell: Music (blues, soul, rock, folk, indie, etc), movies, great food, a drink or two, socialising, politics, philosophy, reading, writing, being ridiculous.
