About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I need to get out and see things.I've been in Barcelona so long it no longer seems quite so exciting and new. Ireland, Malta and Thailand are all on my "to do" list but a short trip to San Sebastian is on the agenda for this weekend!

ABOUT ME

I've been living in Barcelona for 14 years after having having tried London for a year.Sunny Spain definitely won out.
I came to Barcelona to study a Masters many, many years ago and never left!
Still wanting to travel and explore new places...

PHILOSOPHY

Be bold, try new things but don't forget the old.
Remember your friends, practice patience and keep learning so you can continue growing.
Sometimes the best way to do this is to keep your eyes and ears open and your mouth shut.
Accept the imperfections but strive to improve your weaknesses.
Be kind.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to CS but hopefully very soon I will be able to add more to this section!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

...haven't had one yet....let's see!

Interests

Travel, tennis, hiking, skating, the mountains, languages, good food and wine, reading and learning new things every day.
Living in a culture different from your own really helps with the learning of new things every day and living in Spain helps with the rest of the list!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitch-hiked to Italy and spent a night in the mountains of Morroco with a Berber family.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have some skill at English teaching and can prepare some very tastey dishes.
I'd love to learn to make a decent tortilla de patata - for all my skill, I have yet to master this dish...
