Hey I'm Lizzy. Little crazy, hopefully fun and 24 years old. Going through life at the moment as a medical student (which hopefully doesn't scare you off ;)) Got the 'travellin' fever' after travelling a few months in Africa 2013, amazing! Now trying to see as much of the world as my schedule and small budget allows.
I have been living in Leiden, the Netherlands for a few years now. A very small, lovely city where I know all the good places to hang out. Come visit and I'll show you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Very cliché but I just love the international aspect, meeting new people and helping each other out. It's so much more fun being in a city at a local's house, and getting to know the way of life. And it's just ideal for small budget travelers!

Interests

Doing a full time intern at the hospital at the moment which is.. ok. I like international health especially sexual and reproductive health. Have been a peer eductor for a couple of years, giving sexual education to children age 10-16, really much fun.
Next to all the blabla about study I love playing and watching basketball, making or listening to music (trying some piano, guitar and singing). Done acting for some years, really awesome and I'm actually starting that up again. Playing board games whenever or wherever, although I must say that my urge to win has scared of some dear friends in the past. Now busy trying to learn some more about photography, but I'm not very good at it yet. Oh and I lóve food, ah yes! Trying different local dishes etc. is also one of my favorite thing about travelling. .

Music, Movies, and Books

Music.. Well that a broad spectrum depending on the mood. Jazz, blues, classical, easy listening. Even enjoy some dubstep of drum&bass occasionally.
In a book a can enjoy a good war story and sometimes even some fantasy, but I can also get all girly at the Jane Austen novels, haha. At the moment reading Dave Boling's 'Guernica'.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmm.. Paraglyding in the Himalayas? Working in the rural parts of Tanzania with flying doctors? Out of curiousity pressing an alluring white button in the hospital and having 30 people in panic at your office? Yes, it turned out to be the alarm button. Oops.. you silly intern!

You ever noticed that most Roman clocks say I, II, III, IIII? Instead of the correct I, II, III, IV? I learned while traveling in Estonia and have never been able to look at clocks the same way again :')
