ABOUT ME

Frustrated because I spent two hours doing this last night and it didn't save!

I am serious, contemplative, wacky, adventurous, or whimsical by turns, or depending on the day.

I trained as a teacher, have also worked in business and as environmental campaigner/activist. Recently been doing sustainbility/climate change work in schools.

With my partner, I live in a cottage 2 miles from the closest shop and 7 from the closest town, with minimal public transport, so you have to like cows and cycling or walking to be happy here! (It's a great area for cyclists because relatively flat, and lots of interesting places to explore.)

PHILOSOPHY

Love to share experiences, especially those other people might be abble to benefit from. Like to spend time with young people; keeps me fresh and on my toes!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None, but have spent a lot of time in other countries experienceing life in this way, and have asked strangers home on the basis of wanting to return the many favours! I had many good experiences.

Intereses

Outdoor enthusiast! Hiking, cycling, camping, kayaking, swimming, I have a little sailing experience. Dance (5 Rhythms and French Breton).
Writing, mosaic making. photography, installation art for 5 Rhythms venues
Performance: former member of Japanese taiko (drum) group in Japan, Gamelan orchestra of a New Zealand university, and a world choir. Acting at local venues; beginning concertina player (and wanting to improve!)
Gardening, permaculture, local plant lore.
Active with Transition Towns networks.
Yoga and chi lel (healing) chi gung.
Spending time with friends especially my very young niece!

Spent time in with indigenous rainforest people of Sarawak, particularly Penan and Kelabit. I have many stories and learnt a lot.
