About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To age with grace, health and enthusiasm

ABOUT ME

I am a happy, outgoing, energetic 68-year old grandmother. I recently completed a solo train trip from Montreal, Canada, to Savannah, Beaufort and Charleston. I have travelled in all Canadian provinces, several States in the US, Europe, Central America, the Caribbean. My most memorable experiences involved meeting locals, understanding more about their culture, and getting a real feel for the area.

PHILOSOPHY

I greet each day "with an attitude of gratitude". I count my blessings every single morning and give thanks for my health, my children, my wonderful grand-daughter, my friends, and all the good things I have been lucky enough to have received throughout my life. I say my age, 68, with pride, and choose not to fight aging by colouring my hair or getting Botox. I am proud of my white hair and my wrinkles.

I joined the movement "For a Complaint Free World", wear the purple bracelet every day and have distributed several.

Finally, I may have the doubtful distinction of being the oldest member of Couch Surfing!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would be happy to welcome travelers to Gatineau, Ottawa or Montreal and show them around my beautiful region.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My one and only experience with Couch Surfing, unfortunately, was a meeting which never occurred, as the member who had said she would be happy to meet me for coffee during a 5-day visit was unable to free herself.

Interests

Gardening, my pets, travel, reading, movies, dining out, learning (am signed up for a genealogy class), new things (I have bought Adobe Elements Photoshop, am buying a new digital camera and enrolling in a local photography club; I am also working at experimenting with my new iPad), hanging out in coffee shops with my friends, attending indoor and outdoor concerts, etc.

I do volunteer work for the blood donor clinics where I serve the coffee and cookies.
