ABOUT ME

A music and beer fiend with an economics problem. :-)

My life at home consists primarily of five things: research, teaching, sports, listening to music and drinking. In spite of that I've been around a bit and I've got plenty of good recommendations.

When I travel, I prefer to see a few sights, restaurants and bars that interest me a lot (quite often not the most crowded places), rather than try and do everything in one go.

PHILOSOPHY

To seek out happiness and try to make a positive impact on whomever I encounter in whatever way I can.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Polar bearing in Lake Michigan on New Year's Day 2009 was spectacularly amazing. Nothing quite like climbing over ice to jump into some water with many hundreds of other crazy people.

The most amazing thing I've ever seen still has to be an empty beach on Kauai in Hawaii. I pulled over and just watched the waves for a while, waded for a bit and enjoyed the complete lack of anyone or anything else other than the crashing waves and clear sands.
