ABOUT ME

Hmmm...What can I tell you? I was born in Burundi; grew up a bit of everywhere, have worked in development a bit of everywhere and - at 34 - am going through an early mid-life crisis.

I've quit my cushy UN job, and will be diving into entrepreneurship in the coming year. A whole new beginning, and a huge gamble - and in Rwanda no less. In the meantime, I am taking a break from the routine. No work, little stress and as much travelling around Europe as I can before heading back to Africa.

Beyond that, let's see...I'm rather soft spoken and easy going, but can also be rather opinionated. I like nothing more than a good exchange of ideas, particularly with people who've had completely different life experiences from my own. Add a good meal and a good bottle to the mix (or a few shots, really), and I'm in heaven.

On an unrelated note: I'm trying to decide if ninjavideo is a godsend or the spawn of the devil...

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Current read: Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond. really really good. I highly recommend it.
Favorites: Anything by John Irving. And Books that made me love reading as a kid (Judy Blume's Superfudge, Alexandre Dumas' Comte de Monte Cristo).

Hard to chose favorite movies. Modern classics: The Sting, The Verdict, Breakfast Club, Shawshank Redemption, Usual Suspects etc.
Recently, I find TV series more entertaining than movies: The Wire (of course), Sons of Anarchy is a recent favorite. For a laugh: Friends, The Office, Coupling...
