Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live in Shanghai, in the Xujiahui area and have an extra bedroom in a 100m2 apt. The room has a double bed and is very spacious. The bathroom is shared. I offer this extra bedroom to travelers interested in staying in this area which is very conveniently located, next two 4 metro lines.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am completely new to Couchsurfing! The first time I heard about this was in a Taiwanese movie about a girl that has an "exchange café" where nothing is for sale and everything is for exchange.

Music, Movies, and Books

a big fan of Hemingway and his friends, a huge fan of Jane Austen, love vocal Jazz and Woody Allen movies, as well as Harry Potter.
I usually keep a mix of the above, some current political book (On China by H.Kissinger at the moment) and a more self-help/spiritual one (Meditation for busy people by Osho and the Astonishing Power of Emotions by Esther and Jerry Hicks) on rotation to enjoy depending on my mood.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I find the smaller things in life amazing - like making my breakfast from scratch, explaining a concept with a picture, successfully describing a feeling to a friend, and smiling.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share the esoteric knowledge that I am currently learning, I can also teach how to make great guacamole, hummus and easy, healthy vegetarian meals and give good life advice. I can help out making changes around the house so that you lower your carbon footprint.
