About Me

I'm a college student right now, trying for the 3rd time to complete a college course, this time in computer science in a federal university (third time does the magic ;} ). Have already spent a few years in Letters, Literary Criticism and Information Systems, but, as it seems, universities just didn't fit me . When not studying, I teach (or, at least, I try to) Portuguese and Redaction (also maths, but that's not my specialty, it's just a hobbie, 'cause math is the only thing that makes sense in life). As a children teacher, I try to be as much communicative as I can, but talking to the little ones all day makes a little weird for the adults to talk to me :P
Victim of Peter Pan's syndrome, I believe I never really grew up, I just got bigger. I love watching cartoons, play video games and (believe or not) just to play around.
I also work for a well successful internet portal about cinema (www.cinefilossemcausa.com), interviewing voice actors and reviewing movies in general. Wanna listen to me and my controversial opinions? Just follow the link a spend a little time on the podcast.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My parents used to like to change addresses every two years, so I grew up moving for one corner of the country to the other. Travel and start over was the axis of my childhood, and even been in this house for almost ten years, I still feel the strong need to hit the road. As almost all the college students, money is always a problem, and couchsurfing sounds like a solution. I believe make friends and connect to people is not the true meaning of life, but helps a lot to forget all these great doubts and start enjoying to live.

Interests

Well, traveling is about the top of the list of interests for almost everyone in Couchsurfing. Besides that, I loooove literature, of any sorts, for every age, without prejudices. Obviously, I have my critics and my favorites, but I read first and judge later. Movies attract me as well, and technology is also a passion. But, as a matter of facts, a good chat, about any subject, can make me lose track of time and stay awake the whole night.

Music, Movies, and Books

Strangely (maybe I'm just crazy), I'm not into music. My father used to play only classical music to me. I love Frederic Chopin's nocturnes, also, Mozart give me chills. I listen also listen pretty much any MPB singers, and enjoy a lot, but I don't remember the name of any music after. Books are the thing. Stephen King, Isaac Asimov, G. R. R. Martin, J. R. R. Tolkien, J. K. Rowling, Oscar Wilde, Jane Austin, Machado de Assis, C. S. Lewis, Terry Pratchet, Neil Gaiman, Orson Wells, I can keep listing amazing writers all day long and never get tired. Movies, I watch pretty much everything, but some directors and titles have a special space in my heart. Every Quentin Tarantino movie is amazing (Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction, side by side at the top), Fight Club is the craziest incredible movie in existence; Hayao Miyazaki, George Lucas, James Cameron, Steven Spilberg, Guillermo del Toro, Martin Scorcese, I have a never ending list of amazing directors and must-see-movies.
If games have a place in here, I want everyone to know that The Last of Us is a masterpiece of art.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trying to get into the cultural scenario, I wrote a play, just one. And this play turned out to be a huge success in Brazil. Performed in almost forty theaters, it should get a few presentations in Paris later this year.

Also, I managed to do college and sustain myself with autonomous work, which is pretty amazing, too.

(and I can read a hundred pages in one hour, but no one is interested on that).

Teach, Learn, Share

That is what my life is about. I don't know what I have to teach, nor what I should learn. But all knowledge must be shared, and all experiences must be lived.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My cooking skills are terrible, my musical abilities are crippled. The only good things I really know to do is to write and to read, and that's what I openhearted have to offer.
If you are a good talker, I always can give a good chat (or die trying to).
