About Me

I'm headed back out to the east coast May 12 - 23. As of right now, I'm planning on spending the bulk of my time in NYC, but also planning on going to Boston, Philadelphia, Hartford, and DC. I'm looking for people in those areas who are willing to host me for a night or more.

My tentative schedule is as follows:

Boston May 12 - 14
Hartford May 14
Somewhere Upstate NY May 14 - 17
NYC May 17 - 21
Washington DC May 21 - 22
And on the 23rd I'll be flying back

Washington DC is up in the air however. I may spend that time also in NY. It'll really depend on the cost of flights when I book that one and what will be easiest for me. I haven't been to DC since I was very young so I would love to have that experience as an adult.

I'm looking to explore the cities not from a tourist perspective, but from a local's perspective. I'm moving out to NY either late 2015 or early 2016 and I'm using this trip as a means to get familiar with the area again, and see if I might want to actually live somewhere else besides the city. I'll be taking MegaBus or BoltBus from city to city to save money and also to see as much of this part of the country as possible.

If you have a place I can crash and you want to hang out for a day or a few hours, whatever works, get in touch. I look forward to meeting new people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on here to meet new people on my travels and to see the world through someone else's eyes. I want new adventures, new experiences, and I figure this is a good way to achieve that.

I love it all. Art, music, theater, nightlife, outdoors, exploring... you name it, I'm game. I try everything once as long as I'm fairly certain it won't kill me and I'm not hurting others in the process. I live for adventure and will take you up on most any challenge you throw at me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm really digging on acoustic singer/songwriters lately. Carbon Leaf, Dave Matthews, and Atomic Tom have been on repeat most recently. Lorde and Florence + the Machines also make a regular appearance.

I enjoy comedies and also rather off the wall films. The only movies you won't catch me watching are ones such as The Notebook. I'm sure it's great, but honestly, it doesn't do much for me.

As for books, I read anything that's free on Kindle. I have the app and thank god someone invented that thing because I read so much now. I like books that are scientific and factually driven. Michael Crichton is one of my favorite authors. I'll read anything he touches. Neil Gaiman is also on the top as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have a penchant for picking up and moving because I feel like it. I moved from Minneapolis to Boise having never been to the city before because I could. And because I was sick of Minneapolis winters.

I really wish I had some life changing, earth shattering revelation to write here. I'm still working on it. Check back with me in a couple years.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have myself to share. I go into any situation open minded and hungry for knowledge and experience. Think of me as a blank canvas, and I invite you to leave your mark upon it. I'm always fluctuating and evolving in my tastes, hobbies, and interests. Maybe you can share something with me that will point me in a completely new direction. I welcome that opportunity.
