ABOUT ME

I'm Adam Been. Nothing more. Nothing Less. For as long as I can remember I've played Football. I'm finished with that, and I need to take up some new athletic activity. I've started to play tennis and have found it very enjoyable. I have very eclectic taste. I'm interested in everything, to a fault. I've even studied astrophysics. Of the five main sense organs, my favorite is either the body or the eyes. My head is in the clouds, but I'm also very down to earth. My degree is in Computer Science, but my passion is visual art. I won best in show in high school, for one of my drawings, as well as being a captain of my football team. I learned how to overachieve in high school, and I learned how to slack off in College.

PHILOSOPHY

I am currently reading the Lotus Sutra, one of the prominent doctrines of Buddhism, and it's hard not to be influenced by it. I think the better that you treat people, the better you will be treated. I think Honesty is the best policy. I think that energy is more abudant than matter. I think our base, most fundamental foundation is energy. I think "good is the passive that obeys reason, evil is the active that springs from energy." -William Blake. I think oysters taste better with horsh radish and sushi, better with wasabi. I believe that if one cultivates an ounce of virtue, s/he will grow beyond measure.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to the Couch Surfing Community. I live in a suburb of Chicago, so I doubt any one would want to surf my couch, but I could be wrong, that's why I left it to a maybe. I hope to get my own place soon after I graduate. Maybe then I'll start hosting people. I've always wanted to travel Europe, and maybe this would be my ticket.

Interests

Engineering, Ice Hockey, ESP, Occulto, I have alot of different interests, and I take my mind many different places by means of one main interest, reading. I've read about alot of different cultures, and I hope to one day experience them firsthand. Also, physically I like to spend my time playing football, though I don't like to lift weights, or snowboarding in the winter, not skiing. I like boating, waterskiing, and tubing. I have a stand-up jet ski, which is fun. My English teacher once told me that you can get to know a society by what they read. I think you can get to know a culture by what they produce. I am very interested in visual culture.
