About Me

Steve and I are a couple and are coming to New Zealand for a year(ish) on Holiday Working visas. The plan is vague, but there may be a job for me in Wellington in the New year, in which case we intend to buy a van and do a little travelling before settling down in Wellington for a while. That plan may change. We basically want to make the most of being in New Zealand, see a lot of the country, do plenty of hiking, most likely some working for accommodation, and hopefully some couchsurfing along the way. I'm sure we will have great experiences traveling this way, and when we return to Europe (or wherever we settle) I feel that we will also enjoy the hosting side of couchsurfing. We are both sociable and pretty laid-back, have done a lot of travelling and enjoy it very much. We don't smoke.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is the first time I've used Couchsurfing, but we have done quite a bit of WWOOFing (Working for accommodation), and have also had the privelage of being welcomed into many peoples homes along the course of our travels.

Outdoors, walking, swimming, climbing (Steve), cooking, being healthy, sociable and generally feeling very alive.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love independent and world cinema, music: folk/indie/electronic (sometimes)/funk/rock (doesnt really narrow it down all that much...)...generally enjoy live music and festivals.Reading...recently read: The Shipping News, Stone Junction, some Tom Robbins, I'm a sucker for John Steinbeck and Steve goes for classics with really dusty and battered covers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There's a box here asking for amazing things we have done/seen. choosing one seems a bit of an impossible task- I'm not even going to try. It's all pretty great...
