Hello :)
I'm Marie-Luise, a German girl, in love with learning foreign languages and diving into foreign cultures.
Whenever I travel to new countries I try to avoid spending my time in touristic hotels but get in touch with locals, tune to their language, their habits and interests. As well as I love to take in travellers in return. [Currently I am travelling myself and unable to take travellers in!]

I love to acquire knowledge about nearly everything (arts, psychology, quantum physics, cultures ...) and l love nothing more than exchanging knowledge and experience with another person so that we can benefit from each other and widen our horizon.

I don't care about age, gender, heritage or ethnicity. All human beings share the same genetic code, we are all composed of the same atoms, we all share the same basic needs. Yet we all differ in a way and I cherish our diversity in appearance, experience and interest.

I am still young but I already set my goal in life: to live a life which causes the least possible harm to every sentient being and environment and to bring peaceful harmony. This is reflected in my habits and behaviour.

When encountering people from foreign countries I noticed that we have more in common than expected but that we also differ in a way which make us learn new things and widen our horizon. Meeting and living with locals in foreign countries have been one of my most precious experiences so far.

As well as I like to welcome travellers in my home country. And I like that the couchsurfing community seems to be connected with the common sense of openness and hospitality, values I also stand for.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I did a Buddhist youth retreat where we were introduced to meditation, ethical discussions and concepts of emotions and feeling. It opened my eyes to mechanisms in human behaviour and made me reflect and understand my own mind.

Since I'm fluent in German and English I'll be happy to teach you some.

Also if you are curious and eager to learn new things I can of course share my knowledge and thoughts on plenty of topics.

I really like to try and learn new cooking recipes. So why not do it together? :)
