ABOUT ME

I've always enjoyed exploring, tracking down new experiences and venturing outside of my comfort zone. To do this I usually journey overseas to fully emerge myself in another culture. I especially enjoy combining travel with work in order to meet local people, groups and/or organisations. I feel this provides a good insight to a country and enables me to feel I am contributing to the environment I have come to enjoy.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my everyday life in the knowledge that we´re only here once and therefore we should enjoy every moment wherever and whenever we can. I also feel it´s important to help others benefit from your actions, which is why I try and do the work I do.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I currently hold no experience in couch-surfing. I met a wicked bloke at Huinay Research Station in Chile (where I am currently living) and he told me all about it so I thought I´d give it a go.

Centres d'intérêt

My interests are quite varied. I enjoy swimming, hiking, mountaineering, rowing, music, fishing, general sightseeing and drinking in cool places. I also enjoy learning about the different environmental system in the countries I visit. I strive to work with projects focusing on humans working with the natural environment for the benefit of both.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Most films I enjoy watching, my list is too long to place on here and I would sit here for hours trying to determine a single one that trumps them all. A few favorites that spring to mind however are The Lord of the Rings, Withnail and I, Willow, Goodfellas, Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction etc etc.

Books I enjoy reading depend on my mood but I've read The Hobbit more than once and love Wilbur Smith sagas.

Music is also mood depending but all round favorites include The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Muse, Radiohead, Johnny Flynn, Band of horses and Johnny Cash.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Spent a few days climbing a mountain with a friend. We washed in ice-cold rivers and camped by the the most incredible view of the Chilean Fjords.
I also love the memories I have of tracking down remote villages in the Ghanaian rainforest to discuss the beekeeping practices.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I hold a good degree of knowledge on environmental development factors (such as soils and local farming systems). I thoroughly enjoy learning about the different environments in each country I visit. Combining this passion with the past projects I have been a part of, I feel I could hold some very good discussions with like-minded people. I also have a very good understanding of beekeeping and it´s use in developing countries as a form of supplementing house-hold income.
