I am one of the 6 children raised by Norwegians who immigrated to America during WWII. Our family was raised with a deep respect for our Norwegian heritage. I grew up in Connecticut and met my husband while we were both working for IBM. We were married in 1975 and have since raised our own 6 wonderful children. In 2000, my husband was elected to the U.S. Congress where he served for 12 years. We all enjoy the world around us and love to travel especially to meet unique and interesting people everywhere!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Upon graduating from Hillsdale College recently, my youngest daughter and her sister decided to take me with them on a visit to Norway to better appreciate our family's heritage. In order to explore as much of Norway as possible in our two week window they thought we should Couch Surf! Our two week window is from 6 to 20 June 2017. We can’t wait to meet you and explore your corner of Norway!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
God allowed me the privilege to be married to a kind, loving, adventuresome husband and together we home-schooled 6 outstanding children. All graduated from college and now three of them have obtained Master's degrees and have blessed us so far with 14 grandchildren!
Our children are polite, respectful, fun-loving and a great source of humorous stories and adventures. We consider our family a special gift from God.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am accompanied by my 2 daughters. The oldest works with corporate America, is an accomplished artist, is funny, fun, and a great encouragement to all she meets. She has travelled widely and has many interesting stories.
My youngest, though just graduating, has also travelled to Kenya and Peru, and widely in the US. She is a great organizer and natural group leader. She is particularly interested in how religion influences culture.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Love of life, of people, of nature, of the variety of views of cultures, and of the variety of God's creation! Also the joy and adventures of home-educating 6 widely differing children!
40+ years of successful marriage, and home-education of our 6 children.
