Hiya! My name is Lyse, currently living in the great cultural epicenter that is Montreal, QC and diggin it. I am a great music lover and luckily Montreal is always a-boomin with opportunities to go see and support your local punk show.
I am hoping to eventually work to promote and help organise cultural initiatives in my community that revolve around music and emerging artists.
I've studied philosophy and comparative litterature for two years now, which has been a very life changing and rewarding experience spiritually and creatively, plus it's always fun to discuss these aspects with people, i'm all for thought experiments ;) I also love nature and am fascinated by plant life
I'm basically just a laid back Quebec girl who was born too late, who loves the city but wants to get out once in a while :p

I've never considered doing this before now in my few travels, but I have a few friends who have done it and tell me they've met some very nice and amazing people. Plus what better way to get some culture and get to know the place then by taking in the wisdom of some natives who are willing to share it ;) amazing!

Movies: Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind (the fav), memento, the science of sleep, Donnie Darko, Adaptation, Juno ( pretty much anything Ellen Page, ze girl crush), Away we go

Books: the perks of being a wallflower, fear and loathing in las vegas, fight club, nervous conditions, nick and norah's infinite playlist, the animal farm, the book thief, breakfeast of champions...

I can't say I've saved a cat from a burning building or anything, but I did travel to L.A with my best friend to see our favorite band for New Years, amazing show

I really would like to learn more about living in other parts of the world, in other words to travel differently then I have so far and also learn about other peoples experiences in doing so, it's a scary experience but one I think is worth having, which I guess is another reason for me to couchsurf.

I don't know if I have anything to really teach, it's all about being able to hold good conversation :) I love to talk about philosophy, books, and I have seen a lot of amazing shows and music festivals

I really love doing all sorts of crazy projects, whether it's cooking the worlds biggest pizza, skinny dipping in the middle of the night or hosting a harry potter themed party; I'm basically the kind of person who will always go along with my friends crazy ideas and help them accomplish them!
